It’s April already, looks like the Bayou Chapter is off to a slow start. I wish I could say the same for my life. In February I had to move to a new office building. I’m now in the Yenni Building, Suite 704, on Elmwood Park Blvd in Jefferson Parish. I also had to go to the great frozen North for three wonderful days of snow and single digit temperatures. Last month I served on Jury Duty in New Orleans Criminal District Court. Lots of fun!
The good news is that Spring has sprung! We’ve had great weather for driving and “riding”. Yeah, that’s right, I said riding! We have become a two BMW family! Parked beside the M3 is a pristine 2000 K1200RS! What a blast! I found it in Austin, Texas. Ironically, it started its life in New Orleans, originally sold by Peake BMW! Harmon would even approve of the color – Yellow! Don’t be surprised if you see Elisha and I pull up to a meeting on two wheels instead of four! I still love the M3 and recently treated it to a new set of 19” rims.
Let’s talk about activities for a few minutes. I have been asked to see if the chapter can put together some social activities. Specifically, some one and two day tours to interesting locals on even more interesting roads. Plantations in St Francisville, antebellum homes in Natchez, the Naval Air Museum in Pensecola, etc. Of course these trips would have to include good food as well!
Some other activities on the drawing board include track events, tech session with special guests, and (if I can twist Harmon’s arm a bit) a rally!
By the way, I have just learned of a German restaurant in Baton Rouge. Anybody know anything about it? Do I hear road trip?
